Nick Corba
2013 Graduate
Wrestling

Nick is only the second Ohio State High School Wrestling Champion in Beavercreek’s history.  The first Wrestling team was established in 1959.  He was the 2013 State Champion in the 170 pound weight class.
Nick earned 4 varsity letters in wrestling. His career record in High School was 85-23 with 29 pins. Nick was a 3-Time State qualifier; 3-Time All American, and 2-Time State Placer.  He placed 4th in his sophomore year and was the State Champion his senior year. In the summer, He competed in the Pan American Games, was a Greco Roman Gold Medalist and an All-American in Greco Roman, placing third at the Junior National Tournament. In 2010, He was the Greater Western Ohio Conference (GWOC) Central 2nd Team. In 2011 through 2013, he was GWOC Central 1st Team; 1st Team All-GWOC, and 2013 GWOC Athlete of the Year.
After High School, Nick attended Cleveland State University.  Earning his Degree in Marketing and Minor in Biology. While at Cleveland State, he was a two-year captain and qualified for the NCAA DI Championship. He went 2-2 his senior year at nationals for the Vikings.
During his junior campaign, Corba earned an at-large berth in the NCAA Championships. He finished his junior year with a career-high 25 wins including 15 bonus-point victories and ranked among the Top 18 in his weight class by multiple outlets entering the national championship. He went on to win the Ohio Intercollegiate Open, Storm Open and Mat-Town Open II.
During his sophomore year, Corba finished the season with a 13-10 record and won the UWW National Championship at 185 pounds and subsequently represented the United States at the Junior World Championships.
Sydney Leiher

Track & Cross Country

Sydney Earned 11 Varsity Letters.  She competed in Cross Country, Track, and Hockey as a player and manager.  She ranks 5th all-time in cross country at BHS with a time of 18:03.  Sydney is 2nd all-time in the 1600M with a time of 4:49; 2nd all-time in the 800M with a time of 2:10; 3rd all-time in 3200M with the time of 10:38, and 2nd all-time in the 2000 steeplechase (Former state record holder).
Sydney was a 2-Time State champion in the 1600M in 2012 and 2013.
She was a state qualifier in the 800M in 2013.  She was 3-time All stater in Cross Country In 2010, she placed 17th; in 2011 she was 3rd, and in 2012 she was 7th in Cross Country.
Sydney was a 19-time Greater Western Ohio Conference (GWOC) champion in track and cross country. She was an 8-time district or regional champion in track and cross country.
She was a 2-time All American, in 2012, the 1 mile 8th place, and 2000 steeple in 4th place
The Beavers’ 2011 Cross Country team was 2nd in the Ohio State Championship.  In 2012, they were GWOC and District Champions.  They Placed 3rd at the Ohio State Meet
After High School Sydney competed in Cross Country and Track at the University of Syracuse in 2013-2018.


Micaela Powers
2013 Graduate
Soccer

Micaela earned 4 Varsity Letters in Soccer. In 2011 and 2012, she was a midfielder and leading scorer on the team.  Micaela scored 20 Goals and 9 Assists; in 2011, she scored 16 Goals with 7 Assists.  In 2009 and 2010, Micaela played Forward and was the leading scorer on the team. In 2010, she scored 24 Goals with 12 Assists, and in 2009, she scored 22 Goals with 15 Assists. Micaela’s career totals were 82 Goals with 43 Assists.
Micaela’s Soccer awards 2012: NSCAA All American (2nd Year); NSCAA All Region IV (Central); Player of the Year (State of Ohio); First Team All-Ohio, Greater Western Ohio Conference (GWOC) Central First Team; GWOC Central Player of the Year; Dayton South Player of the Year; Dayton District First Team; Dayton District Player of the Year, and All Ohio Academic.
2011: NSCAA All American; NSCAA All Region IV (Central); GWOC Central First Team; GWOC Central Player of the Year; Dayton South First Team, Dayton South Player of the Year; Dayton District First Team; Dayton, District Player of the Year; First Team All-Ohio; U-17 Women’s National Team and selected to play with region 2 on a trip to Holland.  She was Nationally Ranked #11 for 2013 Class in March-July 2011 www.topdrawersoccer.com

Central League Champions. Record 17-1-2.
After High School, Micaela played D-1 soccer at the University of Wisconsin (Big Ten)
Big Ten Player of the Week October 27, 2015.  She also played on the W-League Dayton Dutch Lion’s Women’s Team.

Kathleen Holihan (Diaz)
1981 Graduate
Gymnastics

Kathleen earned 3 Varsity Letters in Gymnastics. In her sophomore year she was 1st in Bars; 2nd in Beam; 3rd in Vault, and 2nd All-Around in the Western Ohio League (WOL). In the Districts, she was 2nd in Vault, and Qualified for State in All-Around category.
Kathleen continued her winning ways in her Junior and Senior seasons. In 1979-80 Junior season, she was 2nd in Vault; 3rd in Bars; 3rd in Beam, 2nd All-around in WOL. In the District Tournament, 5th in Beam; 5th in Floor, and 5th All-Around. Kathleen placed 4th in Beam at the State Tournament.
In her Senior Season, 1980-81, Kathleen was 1st in Beam, and All-Around in the WOL.  In the 1979 and 1980 Season, she anchored the girls’ team that was the first team to qualify for the State Tournament (1 of 15 Teams Statewide).  The team placed 6th in the State Tournament in 1979, and 11th Place in 1980. Their Meet overall record was 35-5. They placed 2nd, 3rd, and 3rd in the WOL.  The team also placed 2nd, 3rd, and 4th in the Districts Tournament.  Kathleen was the Team’s MVP in her Junior and Senior Seasons.
After High School, Kathleen received a Gymnastics scholarship to Northern Michigan University, NCAA Div. II.  She competed for two years against Div. I, Div. II, and colleges from Canada in Intercollegiate Gymnastics. In 1982, she Qualified/Competed in1982 NCAA National Championship, Denver, CO.
In 1988-89, she trained Elite-Level Gymnasts at “Gimnasia Olimpica Bulgaria” in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico. In 1988, Kathleen took one qualifying gymnast (Vicky Vallejo) to 1988 Mexican National Gymnastics Championship. She placed 3rd in bars, 1st in Floor X, and was awarded the All-Around National Title. The top two All-Around Gymnasts qualified for the Ibo American Games in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Leane Vuckovich (Kuhner)

Soccer, Basketball and Track

Leane earned 10 Varsity Letters: Soccer (4), Basketball (2), and Track (4). In 1991, she was the soccer team’s leader in Assists. In 1992, Leane was the team’s scoring leader, and captain of the soccer team.  Additionally, Leane was the captain of the 1992 Basketball team.  She led the team in rebounds.
In Soccer, Leane, in 1991, was All-Western Ohio League (WOL) 2nd Team and All Dayton South 3rd Team. In 1992, She was selected to on the All-WOL 1st Team.  That same year she was Honorable Mention on the All-Dayton South Team.  Leane is also a Member of Coach Bissurm’s All Time BHS Dream Team.
The Beaver’s Basketball Team Record in 1991- 19-4 and in 1992- 15-9.  The Team was WOL Champions both years and they were Sectional Champions in 1992.

After High School, Leane played College Soccer for Wheeling Jesuit University Varsity 1993-1996. At Wheeling University. She scored career 33 Goals, 21 Assists, 87 Points.  Leane was 1993 NAIA Second Team All-Region; 1995 and 1996 First Team All-Region, and 1996 Regional All-American, In February of 1997, she played in the Umbro National Selection game in Ft. Lauderdale Florida.
After College in the summer of 1997, Leane played for TSV Crailsheim in Germany in the Frauen Bundesliga. Currently she is the girls’ varsity assistant coach for RJ Reynolds High School in Winston Salem NC. Leane was named All State Assistant coach of the year for Indian Hill HS in 2003 and a 4-Time All-Region Assistant coach of the year for RJ Reynolds HS. Leane is married and has three children who are rising Soccer stars for Wittenberg and RJ Reynolds High School.
