Matt Baltzer 2021 BHSAHOF Inductee
Matt Baltzer – Class of 1997 – Football, Baseball
Matt Baltzer graduated in 1997. He played Football and Baseball. Matt earned 5 varsity letters. He was a 3 time 2nd team WOL all-league and 2 time all-area honorable mention player in Football. Additionally, he was the Beavers team leader in rushing yards (over 800yds) and for 3 seasons, he lead the team in tackles (over 90 per year). In Baseball, Matt was a prolific hitter batting .429 Junior year, .478 his senior year and .583 in league play. Matt was 2 time all WOL and All Area in Baseball.

After High School Matt played Football at Hillsdale College. He was their team captain and an All-American. Matt was, for multiple years, Hillsdale’s MVP. He was also a DII Scholar Athlete.

Andy Bergren 2021 BHSAHOF Inductee
Andy Bergren – Class of 2004 – Swimming
Andy Bergren graduated in 2004. Andy was a Swimmer. He set the 200 IM school record in 2004 and was part of the 400 Free Relay team record. In District competition he won both the 100 Breast and 200 IM events his Junior and Senior year. At the Ohio State meet his Junior year, he was 2nd in 100 Breast and 5th in the 200 IM events. In Andy’s Senior season at the Ohio State meet, he was 2nd in both the 100 Breast and 200 IM events.
After High School, Andy had a four year Swimming Scholarship to Clemson

Fred Blair 2021 BHSAHOF Inductee
Fred Blair – Class of 1978 – Baseball, Football
Fred Blair graduated in 1978. Fred played Football and Baseball. In Football, he was the team’s MVP in 1977. In Baseball, Fred was a prolific hitter. His batting average in 1977 was .448; in 1978 .500. He had 43 RBI’s in 1977 and 78 in 1978. He made the ALL WOL Team in 1977 and 1978. He was on Dayton’s All Area team in 1978 and represented Beavercreek in the Ohio State’s All Star game that year.
After High School, Fred went to Wright State University where he earned multiple honors. They are: Greg Nischwitz Memorial Scholarship, MVP award 1981, 82 and 83, 1982 1st Team DII All-American, 1982 Dayton Agonis Club Outstanding Athlete, 1982 Alumni Award Outstanding Male Athlete and is a member of Wright State’s Hall of Fame. Fred was drafted by the Montreal Expos in 1983 and was a Scout for the Cincinnati Reds from 1994 – 2007.

Carol Eckerly 2021 BHSAHOF Inductee
Carol Eckerly – Class of 2004 – Track & Cross Country
Carol Eckerly graduated in 2004. Carol ran Track and Cross Country where she earned 7 varsity letters. During her Track Career, at the Ohio High School State Meet, Carol was 8th in 2001 and 6th in 2002 in the 1600 meter event. Also, she finished 2nd in 2004 in the 3200 meter event. Carol was a 6 time league and district champion in the 1600 and 3200 meter event.
In Cross Country, at the Ohio High School State Meet, Carol was 17th in 2001, 8th in 2002 and 5th in 2003. She was a 5 time league and district champion.
Carol was the recipient of the Rae Burick Women in Sports Award in 2004.
After High School, Carol continued her running career in college. She receive a scholarship to Miami University for 3 years, and then went to the University of Akron for 2 years. She was the 2008 Mid-American Conference Champion in 10,000 meters; the 2006 All-Ohio Indoor Track and Field Champion in 5,00 meters. Carol earned numerous honors in Track. She was All-MAC in Cross Country (2004); All-MAC in Track and Field (2008) and Academic All-MAC (2005 Cross Country and 2009 Indoor Track and Field).

Megan Gill 2021 BHSAHOF Inductee
Megan Gill – Class of 2010 – Gymnastics
Megan (Gill) Christoffel graduated in 2010. Megan competed in Gymnastics. She received 3 varsity letters. In the Ohio State meets, she excelled. In 2008, she tied for 14th on bars – she was 2nd in the District meet and 5th all-around in the District meet. In 2009, at State, Megan was 7th on vault, 14th on floor and 11th all-around. In the Dayton Championships that year, she was 1st on vault, 2nd on floor and 3rd all-around. In the 2009 District meet, she was 1st on vault, 1st on floor and 3rd all-around. In the 2010 State meet, Megan was the State Champion on the Balance Beam, 2nd on bars and 3rd all-around. In the Dayton City Championships, she was 1st on vault, 1st on bars, 3rd on balance beam, 1st on floor and 1st all-around. In the Districts, Megan was 1st on balance beam, 1st on floor and 2nd all-around.
Megan earned numerous awards during her High School gymnastics career: 2008,2009,2010 Ohio High School Girls Gymnastics Coaches Association (OHSGGCA) All-Districts; 2008,2009 Subway “Athlete of the Week”; 2009 GWOC Scholar Athlete Award; 2009 OHSGGCA Sportsmanship Award; 2009,2010 OHSGGCA All State; 2010 OHSGGCA Scholar Athlete and 2010 Rae Burick Women in Sports Runner-up.
After High School, Megan went to Bowling Green State University where she was a Cheerleader from 2010-2014.

Tim Henry 2021 BHSAHOF Inductee
Tim Henry – Class of 1977 – Baseball & Football
Tim Henry graduated in 1977. Tim Earned 4 Varsity Letters in Football and Baseball. Tim was an outstanding pitcher for the Beavers. In 1977, his record was 6-0 with an ERA of 1.15. He only allowed 7 earned runs all year. He was the winning pitcher in the Districts Semi-final game and in the District Finals. He was on the Beavers’ 1976 State Semi-finalist team. In 1976 and 1977 he pitched two no-hitters one was in the Districts Semi-final game.
Tim was 2nd team Western Ohio League, 2nd team Miami Valley Coaches All-Stars, and All-Area All-Star Honorable Mention.
After High School, Tim received a baseball scholarship to Texas Wesleyan University and lead them to the NAIA National playoffs and District Championship with a 10-2 record. He was drafted by the Texas Rangers and pitched in the minor leagues, 1980-1985; played six seasons (A and AA) where he pitched in 101 games.

Chase Simon 2021 BHSAHOF Inductee
Chase Simon – Class of 2002 – Swimming
Chase Simon graduated in 2002. Chase earned 4 Varsity Letters in Swimming. He was a former record holder for 100 yard Breaststroke, 200 yard Individual Medley & 200 Yard Medley Relay.
In 1999-2000, Chase was All Western Ohio League 1st 100 yard Breaststroke; 1st place Sectionals 100 yard Breaststroke; top 8 Southwest District 100 Yard Breaststroke and a State Qualifier in the 100 yard Breaststroke and 200 Medley Relay
In 2000-2001, Chase was on the All Conference team 100 yard Breaststroke; 1st place Sectionals 100 yard Breaststroke & 200 Yard Medley Relay; 2nd Place Southwest District 100 Yard Breaststroke. 6th place Ohio High School State meet in the 100 yard Breaststroke and top 16 200 yard Medley Relay.
In 2001-2002, Chase was on the All Conference team 100 yard Breaststroke and 200 Medley Relay; 2nd in Conference 200 Yard Individual Medley; 1st place Sectionals 100 yard Breaststroke, 200 Yard Individual Medley & 200 Yard Medley Relay; 3rd Place Southwest District 100 Yard Breaststroke; Top 8 Southwest District 200 Yard Medley Relay; 4th place Ohio High School State meet in the 100 yard Breaststroke and top 16 200 yard Individual Medley.
